When operating a modern concrete roof tile plant at cadences up to 150 tiles per minute (TPM), coating application is often where OEE quietly bleeds out. Plant directors routinely face two opposing forces: the need to apply a consistent, closed, thin acrylic film (17-22 g/tile wet side; 13-16 g/tile dry side), and the harsh reality of overspray waste, nozzle clogs, and excessive cleanup downtime. Standard catalog booths often compromise by using lightweight enclosures that trap mist improperly or complex, delicate electronics that fail under abrasive plant conditions.

Heritage Meets Modular Mechatronics: Redland DNA
The WELSCH 300 Series Sealer Booth was not designed on a whiteboard overnight. It is built directly on the indestructible Redland Technologies DNA of the 1990s, a legacy prototyped through our 200 Series (2006-2022) and now refined into the world's most advanced modular coating platform. To achieve continuous linear spraying without paint loss, we focused on three uncompromising engineering pillars:
1. The "Magic Ball Omni-6" Precision Nozzle System
Achieving uniform coverage on complex barrel profiles, steep vertical flanks, or gable laps requires dynamic positioning. Standard fixed brackets force operators to settle for improper spray angles, creating thin spots or heavy edge buildup. Our solution is the proprietary Magic Ball Omni-6 mounting system. Available in 2- or 3-nozzle configurations (each equipped with dynamic pneumatic shut-off valves), this manual 6-axis unit delivers complete geometric control:
- True 6-DOF Positioning: Independent X/Y linear translation, step-less Z-axis insertion via a fixable ball joint, plus full 360° rotation and 3D swiveling.
- Instant Lockout: All 6 degrees of freedom can be clamped independently by hand, locking in the ideal spray cone without shifting under high fluid pressures.
- Zero-Downtime Redundancy: Featuring optional 200 µm dual bag filters and full secondary nozzle redundancy, operators can switch to a backup circuit in seconds during a clog, keeping the line moving at 150 TPM.
2. Aerodynamic Mist Separation & Paint Recovery
Overspray is money airborne. Standard booths allow turbulent, paint-laden air to escape or create heavy buildup on upper internal surfaces that drips back onto fresh tiles. The 300 Series features a multi-part, high-grade stainless steel housing designed with dedicated paint mist separation chambers at both the inlet and outlet. As turbulent air enters these expansion zones, velocity drops, forcing airborne acrylic particles to settle on smooth, step-free interior walls. Guided by a gas-spring-assisted saddle hood, wall runoff flows directly into a lower drip pan and coarse-filter sump for immediate pump extraction and recycling.
3. Substrate Protection & Chemical-Free Belt Care
A coating booth is only as clean as its conveyor. Paint buildup on return belts transfers directly to the underside of aluminum pallets or concrete tile bases, causing dimensional contamination. Equipped with a cantilevered, corrosion-proof frame and an asynchronous IP66-rated three-phase gear motor (1.5 kW), the 300 Series runs customizable two- or three-lane V-belt or round-belt configurations. In the lower return run, an empirically engineered wet/dry belt cleaning device sheds residual debris continuously into an on-site basin, eliminating the need for harsh chemical softeners that degrade belt polymers.
